A Purrfect Ending for Gizmoe, a Very Special Purrfect Pals Cat!
Gizmoe has been paroled!! Gizmoe is a big, goofy, handsome 12 year-old Chocolate Point Snowshoe Siamese with beautiful, sapphire blue eyes. Gizmoe came to Purrfect Pals in March 2015 when his lifelong family moved and couldn’t take him along. An extrovert by nature, Gizmoe seeks out human contact, affection and warm laps. Gizmoe has had some serious challenges finding a new home. First, he has Pancreatitis and is on a strict diet of W/D and one small pill daily to prevent inflammation and keep him healthy. The other challenge is that Gizmoe really wants to dominate other cats and that meant he was confined to a kennel in our Infirmary room. Gizmoe was really sad and unhappy there, and we don’t blame him!
Last week, we posted his story and it caught the eye of Michelle (thanks to her sister, Helen for sharing). Their mother, Allessandra lives alone in a large house with no pets and wanted to give Gizmoe her lap and his retirement home. Allessandra had experience medicating her late cat with hyperthyroid meds, and Michelle lives nearby and can help her with Gizmoe’s meds. Today they drove up to the shelter and sprung Giz from jail! This big hunk of kitty love is on his way to a new life in a wonderful home. (Either someone has been cutting onions here, or everyone is having a massive allergy attack!) We’re excited that our sweet Meezer boy is finally free, never to be caged again. Live long and prosper, Gizmoe!
