Princess spent the last nine years living with her person who she loved very much. Suddenly, she found herself thrust into the confusing, unfamiliar environment of the shelter, with all kinds of other cats, smells, and scary noises. Adopted from us in 2009, Princess was surrendered at 18 years old because her owner was moving cross country and didn’t feel Princess could handle the travel and relocation. Princess is a regal, senior, house panther who deserves to live out her remaining years in a home, not a shelter. She’ll be the first to admit she lives up to her name and is a bit of a princess. This graceful, stylish, posh lady is the kind of cat who sits on the arm of the couch and benignly oversees the action in the room. She will bestow the occasional approving glance on her loving subjects and if you’re a favored courtier, she enjoys cuddling and being brushed. Princess is actually an outgoing, sporty kitty who still loves to play with balls and will even fetch them for you! Her previous owner said she tolerated other cats at home, but she’s definitely not appreciating the other cats in the shelter. Princess is currently hiding in a cubby near the floor in her room and really wants to be an only cat in a less active environment. She has never lived with dogs and at her age, isn’t interested in trying. We know that being black, senior and needing a quiet, single pet home makes it exponentially harder for this girl to get adopted but we have high hopes there is a kind-hearted person out there who will want to fill this lady’s life with love and happiness. If you’re that special person with a tender spot for an old girl in an uncomfortable situation and have a quiet home for this little one, she (and our staff) will be forever grateful! Princess will need time and lots of TLC while she settles into another new environment and will benefit from starting off in a quiet, sanctuary room while she gets acclimated. While she looks for her forever home would you consider becoming her monthly sponsor?
