UPDATED: Leela’s Surgery Was a Success and She Has Her Eye on a Forever Home!
Recently, one of our wonderful partner shelters contacted us for help with two litters of orphaned newborn kittens. One of these sweet kitties, Leela, came to us underweight, covered in fleas and with an eye infection. She has spent several weeks in a loving foster home where she received medicine, all the food she could eat and plenty of TLC.
Unfortunately, Leela’s eye had worsened and she needed to have it surgically removed. Leela’s eye removal surgery was a success and she was quickly back to bouncing around like a normal kitten. Above is a photo taken of our sweet little girl a week after her surgery. The photo on the right is of Leela when she arrived at Purrfect Pals.
Thank you SO MUCH to each and every one of you who donated or shared Leela’s story! You can help us save more special needs cats and kittens like Leela by giving a gift to Purrfect Pals today.
UPDATE – A Purrfect Ending for Leela!
We are thrilled to report that Leela was recently adopted along with her friend, Marianne!
Marianne and Leela became best friends in foster care and are now inseparable. Leela came in with an intractable eye infection that defied antibiotics and eventually required removal of her right eye. She doesn’t seem to care that it’s gone, though, and certainly hasn’t let it slow her down one iota.
On the left is a photo of Leela and Marianne in their new home. We think it’s safe to say that they are settling in well and will be spoiled rotten by their new family! We look forward to seeing updated as they grow.
