Did You Have As Much Fun As We Did at the Average Joe Cat Show?
On May 7th, dozens of cats gathered at Shoreline’s Spartan Recreation Center to compete in silly cat show categories such as “Most Impressive Ear Hair” and “Loudest Purr.” It was a fantastic day celebrating cats and their quirks!
Our photography show showcased a room full of images of kitty models who were competing for titles like “Best Cat in a Box” and “Grumpiest Looking Cat.”
The event also featured volunteers, staff and adoptable kitties from several Puget Sound shelters and rescue groups, gourmet hot dogs from Dante’s Inferno, a vendor fair designed with cat lovers in mind and a silent auction to support Purrfect Pals.
Fans of Foster Dad John’s Critter Room Kitten Cam organized the 3rd Annual “Kitten Cam Con,” a four day event in Seattle centered around the Average Joe Cat Show. Local fans of the kitten cam were joined by dozens who traveled from New England, Florida, England, the Netherlands, Australia and more!
We also had special feline celebrity guests at the show this year! Oskar the Blind Cat and his buddy, Klaus, were back at the show with some of their awesome cat toys and other goodies. Over in the Seattle Persian and Himalayan Rescue Kissing Booth, internet celebrity kitties Brimley (America’s Next Cat Star), Fancy of Fancy & Friends, Percy the Persian, and Merlin the Meowciful were hard at work raising money for their homeless persian friends.
