Our Adoption Program

Our new cat adoption and rehabilitation programs help us place homeless cats, including those with special needs, in loving homes. We believe that every cat is adoptable; some just need more time than others to find the right match.

Purrfect Pals cats and kittens are available for adoption at our Arlington Sanctuary and our four offsite adoption centers.

Our Adoption Process

Potential Adopters must complete our Pre-Adoption Questionnaire and an interview with an Adoption Counselor.

Because each and every cat and adopter is unique, this process can take an hour or longer. We are committed to setting you both up for success and the interview process will determine whether your lifestyle and the cat’s personality are a good match.

Adopters must be 18 years of age or older. To avoid delays, please bring your photo ID with you.

Our Furever Home Program

At Purrfect Pals we believe that every cat, including those with special needs, matters and deserves a loving home. We believe that every cat is adoptable; some just need more time than others to find the right match. Our ultimate goal is to place them with adopters or long term foster families, but these cats have a loving home in our Arlington sanctuary for as long as they need us. The Purrfect Pals Sanctuary is currently home to 130+ of these special cats.

For some cats, though, living at the sanctuary isn’t ideal. Some would thrive in a home but have chronic medical conditions that might be intimidating for potential adopters. Others are in hospice care and would be happiest spending their last days in a home. Thinking outside of the box, we created our Furever Home Program for lifelong foster cats.

Furever Home cats are placed in loving, lifelong foster homes but Purrfect Pals remains their legal owner and continues to provide them with regular veterinary care at our clinic, all medications, special prescription food and supplies. Our team also offers educational opportunities and emotional support to help foster families cope with any challenge that come up throughout the lifetimes of their companions.

Each year, the Furever Home program allows us to provide alternative placement for hundreds of medically fragile cats who might otherwise end up living out their lives in the Purrfect Pals Sanctuary. While improving the quality of life for these cats, it also frees up valuable space in our facility which allows us to rescue more special cats in need of second chances… Because Every Cat Matters.
