Luke aka The Sundance Kid

  • Adopted by: Stacey Solemslie

Purrfect Ending Story:

I adopted Luke AKA the Sundance Kid 18 years ago.  I had entered some photos in the cat show but I was also in need of a cat and I immediately fell in love when I saw a cat climbing the wall of his cage.  I swooped him and up brought him home to meet Miranda, who was about 8 years old at the time.  Miranda quickly fell in love with Luke as she was a feral who loved all cats.  Luke tolerated her and over the years I was able to sneak some really cute pictures in the middle of the night of them snuggling together.  After Miranda passed away, I knew that Luke would love to be an only child, so he was my only cat for the last 6 years of his life.  Luke was diagnosed with CKD about 8 years ago but was in really good shape for most of that time.  The last year or so of his life, I had to make some tweaks to his diet but he was a sweet old guy and he was my world.  Sadly, Luke’s life came to an end on May 11th, 2022 as his kidneys were just kaput after living with kidney disease for 8 years.  He was my best friend, the best coworker and I will miss him forever.  Thank you for rescuing him and his siblings.
