Navi

  • Adopted by: Melissa & Brian Giaime

Purrfect Ending Story:

“I wanted to adopt a cat to live with my then boyfriend (now husband) in our new apartment that allowed pets. He had never had pets as a kid or an adult, so I wanted to adopt an older kitty to avoid the kitten stage for his first pet. I went to the adoption event at Petco and saw Navi hiding in a dark corner from everything, just a ball of anxiety and was immediately attached. I called my boyfriend to come meet this cat and that night we brought her home. She hid under furniture from us for a week and then slowly warmed up, eventually preferring to sit adjacent to us on the couch. Navi earned her name by being very talkative (‘Hey! Hey, listen!’) The following year we moved and adopted a kitten to keep her company in our new home. Navi and Zelda have been best buddies for the last 9 years and have helped us welcome human children into our lives as well. Navi prefers the more relaxed infant over the rambunctious toddler, regularly walking over to the baby to claim her with face smooshes. Navi loves tummy rubs above all else. She did an amazing job teaching Zelda how to ‘cat’ when we brought her into the home at 12 weeks old.”
