Purrfect Pals Raises $242,000 at the 2019 Black Cat Ball

Bellevue, October 26, 2019 – Guests in costumes and cocktail attire gathered at the Meydenbauer Center to support special needs cats at Purrfect Pals Cat Sanctuary and Adoption Centers in Arlington, WA at the 22nd Annual Black Cat Ball.

The gala dinner auction raised $242,000 for Purrfect Pals, a nonprofit organization founded by Kathy Centala in 1988 to provide second chances for cats that might otherwise not have many options for a happy, healthy life.

The event features a large silent auction, dessert auction and a live auction during the gourmet vegetarian and vegan dinner. The Fund-a-Need portion of the live auction raised a record-setting $101,450 to support the mission.

Through placement and prevention programs, Purrfect Pals works to end cat homelessness in the Puget Sound Region. In addition to the Arlington sanctuary and adoption center, cats are also available for adoption at four offsite locations – Denny’s Pet World in Kirkland, Everett PetSmart, Issaquah Petco and Renton PetSmart.

Purrfect Pals highest priority is taking in the cats and kittens that other shelters and rescue groups might not have the resources to help. This includes vintage cats, cats with major medical needs, cats with chronic illnesses (including FIV and Feline Leukemia) and those with behavioral challenges.
