Purrfect Ending Story:
“While volunteering at an adoption event for Purrfect Pals, I was tending to a cage of two bonded tuxedo sisters who were up for adoption. One of the two, Minnie (now Pumpkin), reached through the cage and grabbed my sleeve, pulling me closer. I laughed and played with her, then started walking away to tend to other cats we had up for adoption. She reached through the cage and grabbed my shirt again, and this repeated 4-5 more times before I was able to leave the cage. After watching for 15-20 minutes, I realized she had not reached out to any other people who were in the adoption area. When I went back to the cage, she grabbed my sleeve again. Truly, my cat picked me. After brief negotiation with my spouse, we adopted both. Within 2 hours of adoption, both cats were sound asleep on my lap – a lovely activity they now do daily.
Pumpkin, and her sister Peanut (formerly Twin), are the sweetest little monsters. They are obscenely hyper and playful, but make it a point to hunt down laps to nap in and will not allow us to sleep alone. These two are so goofy and bring so much happiness, energy, and play into our home at a time when we were going through some intense personal struggles. While I was not ready to bring a new cat home, I am so grateful that Pumpkin chose me and brought her sweet sister along. We appreciate the work they did socializing these two and preparing them for their forever home.“
